About us
Rat Race was created by Amos Shaw, a lifelong Torontonian with a love for his city (warts & all), an obsession for urban exploration and a bent towards bringing strangers together through play. The game debuted during Toronto Games Week, a celebration of playful arts, video game culture, and indie game development.
When he's not busy getting lost in the P.A.T.H., Amos runs Warshawskis, a design studio playing at the intersection of storytelling, design, and technology.

Rat Race for Teams
A private, live-action puzzle hunt through the P.A.T.H., built around your team, your goals and your city.
No trust falls. No conference room. People solve real problems together, in small mixed teams, while learning the downtown core they'll be working in.
Core principles
Nobody checks their phone when the clue is on the wall.
Engineering with finance, ops with marketing. Mixed teams, real pressure.
No elimination, no spectators. Walking pace, indoors, no trivia.
Your values, landmarks and leadership hidden in the trail.
Real city discovery they are still retelling weeks later.
Step by step
Everyone gathers downtown and gets sorted into cross-departmental teams of 4–6.
Teams get their map cards, first clue kit and the rules. Then the clock starts.
Racing the P.A.T.H.: decoding clues, hitting stations, unlocking the next leg of the route.
Live scoring, a closing ceremony, trophies and the team photo that ends up on Slack.
NO WORRIES
Entirely underground in the P.A.T.H. Rain, snow or a heat wave won’t touch your schedule.
Steps from Financial District offices and Union Station. Zero travel downtime either side.
Our facilitators handle check-in, route stations, scoring and safety. Your people play instead of organizing.
Scales from 15 to 200+ racers across concurrent sub-teams, with staggered starts above 40.
Who you'd be working with
Rat Race was created by Amos Shaw for Toronto Games Week to pull people off their screens and into the city, with each other. It worked so well that it expanded to Toronto Tech Week, and now runs as private company events too.
When he isn't out in the P.A.T.H., Amos runs Warshawskis, a design studio playing at the intersection of storytelling, design and technology. We build websites, games and products, and specialize in facilitation and team-building that actually brings people together instead of just putting them in the same room
